Finding perfectly fitting motorcycle gloves can be hard if you have wide hands and short fingers. A lot of motorcycle gloves will give you the protection, comfort, and grip that you need, but the fingers can still be a problem. It is a bit frustrating to ride and control your motorcycle when you have gloves with too long finger space.

Why do you need special motorcycle gloves if you have short fingers?

Motorcycle gloves are very important when it comes to riding safety. Not all gloves will fit you well when you have short fingers. This can make your grip slightly challenging. The extra tip of fingers on the gloves might even be bothersome while applying the front brake and holding the clutch. Using your phone’s touch screen can also be frustrating. A lot of riders have tried wearing cadet gloves and women’s motorcycle gloves to find a pair which actually fits them like a glove! But, in the end, no gloves can replace the practicality and functionality of proper men’s motorcycle gloves for short fingers.

Numbness in hands, fatigued forearms, and discomfort in wrists, hands, and arms are common problems faced by many motorcycle riders.

Irritation, damage, and compression in one or a branch of nerves in the arms and wrists can cause hand numbness.

A motorcyclist has to sometimes deal with vibrations coming from the engines and handlebars for longs periods. To counter these powerful vibrations, Gel motorcycle gloves are the best option. They help to reduce such vibrations. One of the main causes of hand numbness is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Gel motorcycle gloves even help to prevent the rider’s hands from this condition.

The best gloves for numb hands feature anti-vibration gel in palms to provide shock absorption and prevent hand numbness. Almost all of Olympia’s gloves have gel padded palms to protect hand fatigue. How do you know if gloves fit well

Finding the right sizing for your glove can be a challenge. Especially when you try to buy gloves online. There are sizing charts available to help you with this issue. Most American brands use American sizing, ranging from 6 to 12.

You find your right size by measuring your HC hand circumference. You just simply wrap a measuring tape around your hand, just behind the knuckles. You do not include the thumb. The size in inches is the size glove you will need. Always make sure to measure both right and left hand and go for the largest of the two.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a measuring tape. Just use a piece a string by wrapping it around your hand and measuring it with a straight measuring tool afterwards.

European brand like Alpinestars will use sizes small to 3XL. You’ll have to use their sizing chart to find the right fit. I personally wear a size XL which is for hand with a HC hand circumference of 9 to 9.5 inches.
